Meet the team

Our website was created and is maintained on a daily basis by a whole bunch of us. Meet our webteam below.

Conrad Chu is chief nerd at church and leads the web team. Currently, happily doing a daytime gig as design director at Ask.com and at night, manages to code between church meetings and other acts2fellowship ministry needs. Prior, led a usability and design team at Convio where Abe/Nelson honed their respective crafts. Holds a B.S. in EECS from Berkeley, and a MFA in Visual Effects at the Academy of Art.

Abe Yang graduated with a EECS degree and is currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Effects. He’s responsible for connecting the various websites with existing services, such as Google Calendar and Flickr. He tries to escape from Conrad’s shadow by playing basketball every once in a blue moon.

Kelly Kang graduated as a double major in EE and IEOR; she programmed for Sun Microsystems until she went into full-time ministry. In addition to overseeing all of Gracepoint Fellowship Church’s ministries along with her husband Pastor Ed Kang, she is heavily involved in the decision process for the layout and content of our website.

A typical day in Kelly Kang’s life might include a vigorous morning walk or bike ride to the church building for a time of daily devotional sharing with the staff women, followed by several meetings, working out the programming details for our Sunday service and other gatherings, responding to hundreds of emails, while hanging out with the staff and whoever else is there at the church building in the midst of much laughter and good food.

Nelson Wong is a front-end developer. Once Conrad delivers him the design files, he spits them back out into standards-compliant XHTML, CSS, and javascript.

Michael Kang was an EECS major in college and works on the backend stuff: server configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

Joe Hwang was an EECS major in college.  His main duties are developing for GraceWiki and working on new features under Conrad’s direction.

Sieun Seo & Ernestine Yeung: are responsible for creating and uploading all the banners that you see on the Gracepoint homepage.

I [Ernestine] get weekly updates on ads for the Sunday Bulletin and design them in Photoshop then send them off to the printing team. I then convert them to web-formatted sizes for Sieun to update on our Gracepoint Fellowship front page.

Gina Han, Theresa Kang, and Jessica Iskandar maintain our photojournal and all the rotating photos on the Gracepoint homepage.

Jeannie Lee, a psychology major and mother of two, heads up Gracepoint Fellowship Church’s tech and arts department. With zero technical background, her motto is, “If I can learn it, anyone can!” One of Jeannie’s pastimes is to tinker around with and learn how to do different things, from Photoshop to EZ Publish. One of these days, she’s going to try her hand at Final Cut Pro and get into video editing.
